Fix our jetty - Don't destroy our Clump Point.
Dear Hon Mr Anthony Lynham,
Why isn't the feedback from environmental representatives being equally weighted and recorded in the Reference group outcomes?
Why are we being told we cannot distribute the latest plans?
Why is it a secret?
IT JUST DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!
Focusing ALL the marine infrastructure at the boat ramp on Clump Point would have unacceptable short and long term impacts on the whole of Clump Point. The basalt Clump Point and Boat Bay environs are not only a unique part of the World Heritage Wet Tropics coastline but an intrinsic part of the Mission Beach identity. The whole point and bay is recognised as having exceptional natural, cultural and scenic, i e World Heritage values.
Turning it into a boating hub for both commercial and recreational use is not sustainable!
WHERE ARE THE STUDIES TO SHOW BUILDING AN UGLY ROCK WALL/INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT ON CLUMP POINT WILL BENEFIT THE MISSION BEACH ECONOMY?
WHY WONT YOU CONSIDER THE JETTY AS PART OF THE MARINE INFRASTRUCTURE AT MISSION BEACH?
WHY WON'T YOU LISTEN TO PRACTICAL ALTERNATIVES THAT HAVE A LOWER ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT?
WHY ARE YOU ONLY LISTENING TO THOSE WHO WANT A MARINA AT CLUMP POINT?
